Warding Staves as Wargear

I would absolutely love the idea of getting the warding stave back as a wargear option. It used to be a weapon with a stratagem attached to it in 9th that gave you an invuln save for 1/2CP. I'd even drop a melee weapon for it if it gave you a significant defensive buff. Just what kind?
