Good morning, afternoon and evening to everyone in this sub!
Hope you've all been ok lately, and that you're taking good care of yourselves :)
It's been a few days since my last post, haven't made it before now due to feeling poorly. Ok, so today will be my sixth attempt at requesting for Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
So, what makes this game shine for you?:
Yakuza as a series generally is stellar and beyond what many games can provide today. And, from the games I've played, I've had nothing but fun, respect, and excitement for the direction of the story, getting to know the characters among many other aspects. Yakuza is a game that always stays true to itself, and if you would believe it, a real-life Yakuza member even approved of the games. For those of you calling Yakuza: Like a Dragon a Japanese GTA, you couldn't be further from the truth. Sure, there's violence, and gangs. But, there's just so many mechanics and aspects about this game that truly stands out as its own thing, and I think it is beautiful. I appreciate the game for everything it stands for and the madness that comes along with it.
If you ever feel burnt out from the story, you can always dip in and out of doing other little things on the side. You can go from being amazed by intense, well-written storylines and holding your breath and gamepad hard as characters lock in on each other at the start of battle... to unbelievable, hilarious minigames and side stories where you'll be crying from laughing so hard. It makes me immensely happy that you do not need to follow a linear path or tasks that you have to do right there and then. I love games where you can interact in the open world, and learn about the denizens that reside there too. And what makes me most excited about Like a Dragon is the fact that adds a whole new depth to the gameplay!
Adding a dungeon-crawling mechanic and summons that call back to previous games and other TV shows/anime, well that.... that is something I truly adore. For someone like me who struggles with always needing to do something with her hands, it helps a ton knowing there's a lot of variety and things to do. Also, might I add that you can summon a Crawfish Caper or the Diaper Man from Yakuza Kiwami 2?! Also, Majima?!?! (Well, Majima has always been a given but he's my favorite character (as well as Kiryuu).
Another thing... The stylish and dramatic cinematography both in cutscenes and fights puts a chunk of movies released with real-life actual acting to shame. The voice actors, from what I've seen in previous titles, always does a stellar job conveying the emotion of each character. I feel like I'm watching a movie sometimes and while that may be a problem for some people, it most certainly is not a problem for me. I've loved watching all of the exposition and cutscenes so far, and I can't wait to see what happens next. You can feel the raw emotion as they go through various trials and tribulations, and it's just amazing as a whole. In my personal opinion, the voice acting far outranks some of the acting I've seen in a good portion of movies and games (looking at you, "XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 2 and THE LAST AIRBENDER LIVE ACTION MOVIE)
Why are you having trouble affording it? Why can’t you just "buy it"?
As I'm writing this request, I can see that all the adverts per page keep showing Yakuza: Like a Dragon available to purchase and it hurts since I cannot afford it at present. Google enjoys tormenting me.
I work on a teacher's salary in Japan, and I am really strapped for cash. Me and my partner are saving up for a place to live together, for documents to finalize our marriage at the registry office, and towards our visa after our work program concludes, since we are both from 2 different countries. We can't really afford to even get wedding bands at the moment. Our work program ends on August 2021, but our current visa expires in April 2020. We don't live anywhere near the embassy to have our notaries signed or our visa handled, so we have to travel by multiple trains and buses to get there and back. As you can imagine, we are stressed trying to figure out a plan on how to do this during a worldwide pandemic (especially with health risks and going completely broke from making the trip there and back), as we need those documents before our contract ends. Our contract doesn't allow us to have a car, but even if we did have a car, it would have been super expensive (more so than the train ride).
That's not to mention the workload that comes with planning/executing and reviewing classes made from scratch to finish, assisting and being there for students on their educational and personal journey, preparing said students for big anxiety-inducing tests during a pandemic, etc...
Having the game would help more than you know. I could relax and blow off some steam after a really long day at school, and use the time playing to continue practicing my Japanese listening skills even while at home. I'm doing everything possible to stay immersed with learning Japanese properly, and this would be something that could help.
その他 (Other):
Here's my Steam ID if you want to take a look at my profile. You're always welcome to message me here, on discord, or on steam.
I won't be requesting games for quite a while once I finish requesting for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, since I'll be primarily focused on completing the game, the marriage, work, and other things too. I might even post updates of where I'm at in-game, but probably in the Yakuza subreddit and probably trying to keep spoiler-free.
I promise to pay this forward one day if someone ever gifts me the game. When that happens, I'll make sure to make the giveaway and have the amount of this future price set at the same price as Yakuza: Like a Dragon! Just know... I cannot do this until I am financially stable... but consider this a promise that will be upheld.
This sub can hold me accountable for this promise, but I'll be sure to keep to the promise made anyway as thanks to everyone being so welcoming and kind!
Thanks for reading, and take care people.

P.s. If some of the sentences don't make sense, I apologize in advance. I've been living off 3-hour sleep every day for 2 weeks now, and it's taken a toll on my health. I don't know what is causing it, but I might visit the doctors soon to see what can be done.
