I enjoyed playing Bioshock 2 - it had greatly improved on the game mechanics of the first game. The original Bioshock was rich in atmosphere and had an interesting plot, which I found the sequel was lacking. The lack of atmosphere could be explained by the fact that I am already familiar with the setting of Rapture, but I felt that playing as a Big Daddy made enemies seem less threatening (of course, this could also be due to the improved gameplay).
However, I can confidently say that the sequel was lacking in an interesting plot. Delta's motivation and whether he succeeds or not felt so inconsequential and irrelevant to the future of Rapture - it was essentially only a personal feud between him and Sofia Lamb. Sure, Sofia Lamb had a grand goal in mind, but it was never made clear to me how achieving said goal would effect Rapture at all.
I am requesting the Minerva's Den DLC because I heard that the quality of its plot was more akin to that of the first Bioshock as opposed to the second. Amazon has a 75% sale on right now, but I can't take advantage of it as I don't have a US-issued credit card.
