Help my wife with her Scottish ancestry

Post Body
My wife is having a literal meltdown right down doing her Ancestry tree. She has traced her lineage to Robert Bruce(1303-1332), who died the Battle of Dupplin Moor, and his wife was Helen Vieuxpont but there's no other info on her. They had a son named Thomas Bruce.
She cannot confirm that Robert Bruce is the son of Robert the Bruce which is where she is wracking her brain right now.
I know it kinda sounds trivial but I want to help her with this badly.
