So I've been doing my genealogy for a while now and decided that it was time to focus on my father's side since I haven't done much with that branch at all.
I ordered my g-father's death certificate last week and figured I would also order his brother's as well, since I am hoping to get copies of their military records from the Korean War. I received the packet today with my g-father's certificate and a letter stating that the county records doesn't have any record for my g-uncle.
Of course I get mad and start looking for the sources in my tree that would list the certificate number for his death record, with the intend of calling the county office and having them find it. After a few minutes of looking at g-uncles profile, I realize that all I have of his death is the state Death Index, the national cemetery he is buried in and a few other misc things, but no death certificate number. So I go back to the Vital Check site I ordered them from, to see what went wrong.
Apparently one of the questions asked is what city did the death occur, I didn't read it fully and put the city g-uncle was born. Both brother's were born in the county, but only my g-father died there, his brother died in the next town, that is in another county.
I wasted 25 bucks and I feel like an idiot lol.
Edit: a word
