Hi everyone-apologies if something along these lines has been asked recently, I'm new to this forum.
I've been looking into the Scottish side of my family's history and hit a bit of dead end. I've found some records via the 1851 Scottish census which help, but can't trace a Scottish family marriage before this.
If you have any recommendations for database sources I'd be most grateful! I've been using Scottish Indexes and Scottish People websites to search but any other sources and advice about where to go from here would be welcomed.
Secondly, we're from the Henderson clan that I believe may have been in the Glencoe massacre, so I'd be also very interested to hear from anyone who has been researching their own lines and found information about this clan, or the MacDonalds, whom the Hendersons were allied with.
Thanks so much again (tapadh leat gu mòr)
