Honest review on gw4 40mm battery life

I'm looking to get a gw4 for my mom for Christmas. I have the classic 46 mm and love it but I don't think that same one would work for my mom since she is much smaller than me (I'm 6'0 male she's like 5'2). I have heard mixed things about the battery life on the 40mm. I'll get her the 44mm if the battery life really is that bad but the 44mm might be a little big for her wrist
