Backstage's resident food geek /u/para_bailar_la_bamba has decided to join the Thirsty Thursday crew with "Bamba's Bar Bites," a segment designed to showcase bar and pub snacks from all over the world for the people on backstage to enjoy!

Fried mushrooms

These bite-size crimini mushrooms are floured, dipped in an egg wash spiked with garlic and onion powder before being passed into seasoned breadcrumbs (a not-so-secret-anymore blend of salt, white pepper, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, and grated Asiago cheese) and deep dried until crispy and golden. Served with a light and zingy lemon-tarragon mayonnaise for dipping. They may be deep-fried, but they're deep fried veggies which makes them good for you, right...?

The Spirit/Cocktail of The Week. Based on chatter throughout the week, or my own instinct I will highlight one Spirit/cocktail as something either to be celebrated or experimented with.

The Spirit of the Week:Summer Solstice Cocktail

• Raw Simple Syrup
• ginger root
• Lime Zest
• Tito's Handmade vodka
• lime juice
• Lemon juice
• Water
