I don't rant usually, but I just heard that City Hall unanimously voted yesterday to get rid of the fountain/pond plaza at city hall in order to create a new public space. Ignoring the fact that I like the current setup, how can our city commission be so ignorant as to vote unecessary spending like this when the citizens taxes are being raised 70% and electric costs are constantly rising.
I don't know what the cost for the project will be but I'd be surprised if its not close to double digit millions.
EDIT: The 70% includes the rollback from the previous cuts, the tax raise, and increased tax value or basis
