Why Gap Adjust installed when Adaptive Cruise is not? 23 Canyon AT4

This is driving me crazy. The Gap Adjust button on the steering wheel is active but Adaptive Cruise doesn't seem to be installed. I'm going from memory but I believe the dealer sticker said something like "Adaptive Cruise, future software upgrade".

According to the manual, holding the cruise control cancel button down, switches to adaptive cruise control mode. This doesn't happen in my truck. It just seems silly to me that I can adjust the gap, but it doesn't do anything (except nearly cause a crash as you expect Adaptive cruise). Anyone else experiencing this or have found a solution or received a software upgrade to have adaptive cruise on board? See pic, note the symbology for basic cruise as opposed to Adaptive. Thx!
