Let's talk Cell Phone plans -- what are your experiences with budget options?
Post Body

Hi, all. I called into Sprint today to pay off the remainder of my lease and buy out my phone. While doing so, I asked about the remainder of my coverage contract and was surprised to find out that I didn't have a contract. I feel silly because I could've been shopping this entire time, but haven't been. But, it's time to do that now, all the same.

Both Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile are running deals right now. Mint is going $15/mo for 3 months (12gb) and I can re-up at 8gb for $20/mo with a 12-month contract. Ultra is giving 3gb for 6 months at $11/mo and I can re-up after that for $22/mo (I'd likely just switch to Mint Mobile at this point). Plus, Ultra has free international calling which could be advantageous since I'll be traveling for a couple weeks in early February.

Do any of you have experience with these carriers? What are your experiences? What frills would I be missing out on that allow for such discounted prices? Would you recommend other carriers?
