Rio de Janeiro, November 1st of 1836; The General Assembly
In the General Assembly, royal regent of the Imperial crown and leader of the Moderate Liberal Party, Regent Feijó, has declared the formation of a new cabinet of ministers that will serve their duty to the Imperial crown, being dedicated to developing and collaborating with him in the developments that follow – many have criticized Feijó for his stance on the revolts that have risen up during his administration, such as Farrapos, the threat of Sabino in Bahia and the Cabanagem revolt are all being heavily criticized; the Regressist Party demands that Feijó either resigns or collaborates with them in developing a credible response to these national threats. It was soon after that the Regent went up to the podium in order to declaim his choices for ministers, which included Manuel da Fonseca Lima e Silva, a military colonel born in the 10th of June of 1793, being declared Secretary and Minister of Imperial Affairs, with a mandate of up to April of 1838.
Furthermore, Gustavo Adolfo de Aguilar Pantoja, a lawyer born in 1798 that served as Minister of Imperial Affairs and Minister of Justice from the 5th of February of 1836 onwards, is now affirmed as Secretary and Minister of Justice henceforth, with a mandate of up to April of 1838. Antônio Paulino Limpo de Abreu, also known as the Viscount of Abaeté, born the 22nd of September of 1798, is a magistrate, diplomat and deputy of the Chamber of Deputies, which compromises the lower chamber of the General Assembly, has been declared the Secretary and Minister of Foreign Affairs with a mandate of up to April of 1838.
Following that, a cough from the general audience and an urge for the Regent to go on, João Vieira de Carvalho, the Marquis of Lajes, born the 16th of November of 1781 and being an engineer, military officer and member of the political cadre as the Senator of the Province of Ceará, is now the Secretary and Minister of Warfare with a mandate of up to April of 1838. Salvador José Maciel, his contemporary, born in 1781 and being a sailor and admiral of the Navy, has been declared Secretary and Minister of the Navy with a mandate of up to April of 1838.
Finally, ending the long list of political bore, Feijó finally declared the final Minister, Manuel do Nascimento Castro e Silva, being born on the 25th of December of 1788, he is henceforth known as the Secretary and Minister of Agriculture with a mandate of up to April of 1838.
The government was naturally, a mix between the Liberals and the Conservatives, with the Regressist Party being allocated a few Ministries, such as the Warfare, Navy and Justice; while the Liberals snagged the Imperial Affairs, naturally, Foreign Affairs and Agriculture; all in all, the Regent had managed to secure a balanced stance to the affairs of the Empire of Brazil, but many still question his ability to lead a stable government, including his own health, as the Regent soon went into a coughing fit and declared that he was feeling unwell, ending the session then and there.
