Creative Curse is annoying. The hub is confusing, the challenges are tedious, and playing alone can make some of them a real chore. It doesn't have to be that way, though. I think everyone deserves a pain-free path to fancy character customization.
Here's my step-by-step guide (with pictures) on how to destroy Retribution and get those beautiful skateboard styles completed:
The Loop: https://puu.sh/EzRFb/acff070987.jpg
- Green dots are log spawns relevant to the loop
- Light line is the path recommended by myself
- Blue is where I recommend placing traps
- Load up a Creative lobby
- This one is obvious. Here's a picture anyway.
- Navigate the hub to find Retribution
- It's the one right in the middle. You can't miss it.
- Start the match and immediately disregard the six-shooter
- You're not Annie Oakley. Don't pretend to be. I'm serious.
- Locate your first log spawner
- This is where the loop begins, and where you should place your first trap. Remember this spot well, because you will be looking for it each time you spawn in.
- Begin the loop, avoiding any zombies that spawn near you
- They're pushovers on early rounds, so just weave through. If you get stuck on them, just jump until you're out of their grasp. Hold onto the six-shooter if you have trouble with this.
- Buy your first trap!
- A successful log run should net you at least 400 wood, netting you enough to buy a spike trap. Don't fret if you didn't get enough wood. It's easy enough on early rounds to just go around again.
- Place the trap
- This is what gets you your damage and makes the runs so much easier. Place it right at this four-way intersection. After this point, it will act as a good guide of where to go.
- Hate stinky boys
- They will explode upon being killed, and leave a bubble of pain around their death point. They don't deal much damage, but they are annoying and obstructive.
- Play until you can afford zapper traps
- Zap traps are only 200 wood more expensive than the spike traps, but they seem to be a bit more effective at killing fiends. They take a bit of grinding, but you should get them soon enough. Don't throw them on top of spike traps or your trap will be destroyed.
- Double up
- If you notice a lot of fiends in one place, try doubling up on your traps with wall spikes.
- Win!
- Do everything right (and not run into rounds where zero fiends spawn) and you should get 40k damage down, making your 100k damage challenge complete in three runs or less.
Things to note:
- Big Boys sometimes stay still on traps. I don't know if it's an issue with spawns or what, but it makes them prime targets for damage.
- Don't throw zapper traps willy-nilly. I did, and I ended up watching this thing spin uselessly in the spawn area.
- Zapper traps can destroy coffins. This doesn't affect gameplay, but may worry you if it happens.
Have fun, and good luck! I hope this guide helps all of you get your 100,000 damage to Retribution Fiends, and I definitely hope it wows your friends when they see the scoreboard.
