Hey guys, has there ever been legitimate forensic evidence to support the claim that "Excited Delirium" causes death OUTSIDE of Law Enforcement interactions??
Post Body

I am a Use of Force Instructor with an agency, and I am writing a paper pleading for a change in the curriculum regarding ExDS. We emphasize that Excited Delirium deaths regularly happen, and the body is typically found naked with ice packs or wet towels on them. I can find absolutely NO evidence to support this claim. Absolutely none, and of course it is not referenced. Everything I have found suggests the complete opposite, in fact.

Edit: Hey guys I really appreciate all of the general information, but I've already written an extremely comprehensive paper on the subject, it's already over 20 pages. Any more content and nobody will get through it!

With our own curriculum stating that deaths ruled as ExDS happen commonly outside of Law Enforcement interactions I wanted to ensure that's not true before I submit a paper that casts doubt on the idea.
