A family member was running errands. Pulled into a fast food place and parked. She went to leave, got it into reverse, then went to put it into drive and nothing happened. A guy had her put it into neutral and was able to push her into a parking spot luckily.
A year or so ago, she had the shifter bushing go bad, so I replaced that for her. I assumed this was the same issue. But when I drove up to look at it, it didn’t seem to be. The shifter is moving the arm as far as we can tell. And the display indicates that it’s shifting from park into reverse/ neutral/etc…. But I can tell it’s not shifting. There is no “jolt/thud” for lack of a better term, that would otherwise happen if I was shifting it into gear. And when I hit the gas it doesn’t move.
It has over 190,000 on it, but i would like to think the issue is with the linkage in some way.
What am I missing. Could this be a low transmission fluid issue?
