I have a 2003 F150 Triton V8 that started giving me problems. First it just shut down and slowly died on me on the highway, shut it completely off and it started back up. Then once it had been running about 20 minutes I would lose the transmission except for reverse (it's automatic). I think it has slowly been losing some horsepower for a while, struggling to pull our two horse trailer on highway hills.
I'm not sure if it's the transmission, the motor or both. My mechanic is like well it runs fine for short trips (was a pretty dickish response frankly after I paid 400 to have it towed there).
I read somewhere there is a fuse that can give you transmission like problems... Is this worth looking into.
Thanks
