Went in for an oil change & diagnostic. They advised I just trade it in instead of pay $7k in repairs.
Post Body

My vehicle vibrates more than normal when sitting in Drive (e.g. at a stoplight) so I went in for a diagnostic and an oil change.

Service rep told me my engine moves 6 inches because of a bad motor mount. 6 inches? I'm not a vehicle mechanic but I was an aircraft mechanic for 20 years and that doesn't sound right.

They tried to advise me to trade it in instead. I tried not to laugh, I love my Explorer. And 116,000 miles for a one-owner vehicle is still pretty early in its life to trade it in already.

I plan to fix everything myself at the nearby Air Force Base auto hobby shop. But before I do that I'm thinking about getting a second opinion.
