I added this to my original post from a few days ago, but it occurred to me it's dropped a few pages down, so I'm making a new post for those who were curious about my trip to the possibly fabulous, relatively new GWO not far from where I live ...

As promised, here's my experience and some photos. I went yesterday (Friday). I got there at 10:30 a.m., although I had hoped to get there right when they opened at 9 a.m. But I had some orders to fill and other stuff to deal with, so I got a late start. Turned out not to be a problem, though. Random comments:

  • It was clean, bright, and well-organized (and a bit chilly, as someone else pointed out in the original thread). In one of the photos, you'll see a box labeled with aluminum and copper. All the items were very well sorted; this is just an example. The other GWO stores I've been to generally tossed a bunch of unrelated stuff in a bin.
  • Hardly anyone was there, and that remained true for the 2.5 hours I was there.
  • Also as pointed out in my original thread, they are strict about the no-kids rule. Two women came in, one with a babe in arms. An employee politely told her she couldn't remain in the main area. The woman left and waited in a front area where they had a table and some vending machines. I heard the employee tell the woman it was a safety issue, which I suppose would be true, especially for a baby.

I'd give it a 9 out of 10. My only complaint is that the shoes and clothing were in gaylords, which made it impossible to reach in all the way (see photos; the boxes were about shoulder height on me, and I'm 5'6"). Short of tossing things on the floor as I went through them and putting them back as I moved along to the next box, I can't think of a way to solve that issue. Something tells me, though, that idea wouldn't fly with the employees. There'd be a mountain of clothing on the floor!
