How do support points work?

I unlocked a Byleth/Petras B rank support after dining with Petra and Hubert. I also unlocked Byleth/Hubert and Petra/Huberts C rank supports.
I restarted my save and now I haven't unlocked my B rank support with Petra or Petra/Huberts support.
I did the exact same things as my first playthrough so why won't they unlock?
(Also, I'd unlocked Caspar/Petras support after the mock battle with church forces but after restarting u still haven't gotten their support after defending the coffin and getting the sword of the creator)
