We're now entering the second week of the Arena reward change! I think it's a great idea and really adds value to my Arena run each week. However, I've been floundering a bit about which color to pull, and I thought I'd set up a spreadsheet to look at the data about what units I should be most interested in to try and prioritize my color picks.
Here is a link to the Google Sheet I made. It's currently locked to View Only. If you're interested in using it for yourself, go to File -> Make A Copy to get your own version. I'll plan to keep this updated if the ticket pool is updated in the future.
Here's how it works. For each color, all summonable units are listed. There's a column for whether you're interested in them for building, and a column for fodder interest. In the version that's in sheet above, I've used the x symbol to indicate my 'score' for each column. Units I'm more interested in building got two (xx) and units I'm casually interested in got one (x). Fodder options got only a single x for me. You can obviously use whatever system you want! From there, the 'score' for each units is just the total number of x's a unit received (build interest fodder interest). DO NOT PUT 0 FOR UNITS WITH NO x MARKERS as this will mess up a later scoring calculation. The exception is units I had at 10 and had no fodder interest in, which I rated as -1 because I'd be kind of annoyed to pull them after investing a bunch of orbs, but again that's just a personal opinion!
The score for each color (which is summarized in the second tab, "Summary" so you don't have to scroll - it's linked to the Data sheet and will automatically update) is in two parts. The first is the 'raw score', or total interest level. This sums up all the ratings, so if there's a color with multiple units you want to build and score more highly, that will be reflected in this score. Obviously, this will also be impacted by larger unit pools (i.e., there are more red options so red will probably naturally end up with a higher score).
For that reason, I also included a "Useful %" number. This takes the total count of cells in the Score column with a numeric value ("Count" - if you include any 0's in the Score column, delete them as they will mess up this calculation), minus the number of units you already have fully merged in that color ("FullMerge"), divided by the total number of units in that color and multiplied by 100. (Summary: Useful% = (Count - FullMerge)/Total Units in Color * 100). Note that the Count column will automatically update, but you need to manually enter the number of fully merged units in a color that you have, because I couldn't work out a way to make the sheet retain that information. The Useful% value is basically the % of units in that color pool that you'd be happy with pulling (or a least where pulling would provide you with either decent fodder or a unit you're interested in building). Note that the Useful% is impacted by the number of units in the pool - it's easier to get to a high Useful% in Colorless, which has a smaller unit pool.
How should you use these scores? Well, it depends on what you value. If you're looking to build the units you're most interested quickly, go for colors with high Scores (the sum of your ratings). This should capture the color with the most units you've rated highly. If you're interested in being happy with your pull as often as possible, go with the highest Useful%. I personally will fall somewhere in the middle. Based on my Score, I should go for Red - it has the most units I'm strongly interested in building. Based on Useful%, I should go Colorless, as I'm interested in a little over 1/3 of the units in that pool. I'll probably end up actually prioritizing Blue, which has my second highest Score and second highest Useful% - a nice balance of the two scores!
Hopefully this is of interest/of use to some folks out there and can may help those who aren't certain where to focus to hone in on colors of interest in the future!
TL;DR Use the spreadsheet to rate your interest in each unit in the ticket pool and use the Summary tab to evaluate which colors are best.
