It's very common to recognise the double standard where women who have a lot of sex are called sluts while men are called studs. And it's absolutely a fair point to make.
But it's not that simple. It's just one side to the issue, because a man who doesn't have much sex is considered weak and pathetic for not being able to get sex, while a woman who doesn't have much sex is considered strong and pure. Some people call this virgin-shaming.
I honestly can't remember ever seeing one feminist mention the male side to this, when it seems to me very, very comparable. In fact, some even deny it (point 13 here on what the author calls a "male privilege checklist" says "nor is there any male counterpart to 'slut-bashing.'")
So I'm here to ask you guys about it. Any reason for this? Any justification? Any random thoughts?
