So I'm a 26 year old male but I've always supported women's rights. I recently got my license because I was held back quite a bit in life by an abusive parent and went to go pick it up. While in line an older lady was asking people to sign a petition to show support of being able to get an abortion.
While I understand it can be annoying to have someone asking you to do things while you're waiting in life at the DMV of all things people were a little extra rude to her and it was shocking. The faces people would make when she asked and the things they'd say were pretty awful.
I happily signed it myself, I know in Florida I'm in the minority of supporting this stuff sadly but people then gave me dirty looks. I was talking to her afterwards and she was very appreciative of my support and was telilng me about how in her country even if a woman gets raped the man also has to consent to get an abortion which is just absolutely bonkers to me.
I guess I just wanted to say after seeing it like that I now understand why women sometimes feel hated or like there's a lot of sexism because it felt like people were being really extra hateful to her. I always rolled my eyes at feminists before primarily because my experience with them has been extreme ones on the internet who hate men but after meeting this woman it makes me really want to get involved.
So I guess my question here is outside of the obvious stuff like voting for political candidates who have pro-choice beliefs, how can I help the cause? I'm not rich, in fact I'm struggling to even eat nowadays so I can't help monetarily, so if I can't help like that what options are there for me to support pro-choice and other feminist matters?
