So I’m a felon and am currently on supervision. I still have about 3 years left on paper. I’m a recovering meth/opiate addict and I’ve been clean since August 4th, 2019. I cannot for the life of me find a place to live in KC! EVERYONE does a background check and my non violent drug charge is hindering me from being accepted. Does anyone know of ANY apartment complex or private landlord that would be willing to work with me? I have even offered to pay 6 months up front on a year lease and NO ONE will give me a chance! I’m currently in a “slum lord” situation, (as that’s the only people that will rent to me) but would like to relocate as soon as possible! Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!
