Hello! Welcome to Part 1. As the title suggests, this first and final part will be the main attraction, and what you all are reading for: The 2022 Crockett Cup tournament itself. Let's not waste any time, and get right into it!
As a refresher, here are the brackets as we go into the first night of competition. Matches will be held from top down order, starting with La Rebelion vs. NEXTREAM, and ending with The Briscoes vs. The Mane Event:
- La Rebelion (Bestia 666 and Mecha Wolf) vs. 16. NEXTREAM (Atsuki Aoyagi and Yuma Aoyagi)
- The End (Parrow and Odinson) vs. 9. Aron Stevens and JR Kratos
- Strictly Business (Chris Adonis and Royce Isaacs) vs. 12. Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku)
- Doug Williams and Chris Ridgeway vs. 13. Ren Narita and Clark Connors
- Violent By Design (Joe Doering and Deaner) vs. 11. Pope and Matthew Mims
- The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) vs. 14. The Classic Connection (Buddy Royal and Levi Shapiro)
- ??? vs. 10. The Dirty Sexy Boys (JTG and Dirty Dango)
- The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs. 15. The Mane Event (Jay Lyon and Midas Black)
With that settled, let's move on to our opening contest of the 2022 Crockett Cup tournament, the NWA Tag Team Champions La Rebelion taking on All Japan Pro Wrestling's own NEXTREAM duo!
(All matches of rounds one and two will take place at the 3.19 Crockett Cup Night 1, all Semis and the Final will take place at night two on 3.20)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 2022 1st Round Match:
#1 Seed La Rebelion (Bestia 666 and Mecha Wolf) vs. #16 Seed NEXTREAM (Yuma Aoyagi and Atsuki Aoyagi)
Many NWA faithful fans were very high on NEXTREAM after a highlight video and small introduction to the team was uploaded to YouTube showcasing the pure babyface team. An even larger section of NWA fans, however, knew that NEXTREAM's fate was sealed as soon as they were put against the brute-force lucha libre styling of La Rebelion. Rebelion showed nothing but pure aggression in the opening minutes and kept it going into the mid-way point. After a big double-clothesline from Mecha and Yuma sent them both down, both men were able to achieve the hot-tag! A comeback looked to be mounted by Atsuki, but was quickly cut off by Bestia, who would hit the double-team La Valagueza - an elevated cradle neckbreaker - with Mecha to get the pinfall victory and advance to the quarter-finals.
WINNERS, and moving on to the Second Round of the Crockett Cup 2022: La Rebelion! ~ Time: 7:12
The team would showboat for the camera, with Bestia yelling "tres mas!" to signal that they have three to go in the tournament before they win. Obviously.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 2022 1st Round Match:
#8 Seed The End (Parrow and Odinson) vs. #9 Seed Aron Stevens and JR Kratos
Moving on from a solid but dominant wrestling match, we get an pure-bred absolute fight out of this match. Stevens and Kratos would rush The End during their entrance and begin brawling on the outside with them, both teams throwing the other into the guard-rails before the match could even start. Once the bell had rang and both teams were in the ring and/or on the apron, The End had the advantage on the two men with Aron Stevens in the ring with them. A double powerbomb attempt was stopped by Kratos with a massive double lariat to both members of The End!! Some normal wrestling would ensue, but not for very long as Odinson would rush Kratos and knock him clean off the apron and into the guard-rail before going to brawl with him some more on the outside. This left Parrow in the ring with Stevens and, after two massive lariats to the chest/head, he would plant Stevens with a massive Murder Bomb to seal the win for his team.
WINNERS, and moving on to the quarter-finals of the 2022 Crockett Cup to face La Rebelion: The End! ~ Time: 4:45
The End would showboat in the ring before heading to the back, not letting themselves get tired for their now upcoming match against the NWA Tag Team Champions La Rebelion!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Instead of getting straight into the match, we see Strictly Business come out for the scheduled match against Black Label Pro (and various other independent promotions) representatives Violence is Forever, but instead of getting ready for the match, Chris Adonis calls for the microphone. What bullshit is he going to spew this time?
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please quiet down." The crowd doesn't quiet down, as expected. "I said, quiet down, and let your leader of the best stable in Professional Wrestling today, Strictly Business, speak!" they still don't quiet down, and Adonis says to hell with it. "Now, I see here that we're facing some po-dunk little tag team that shuffles around the senior centers beating up the new guys for fun. Well, I'd like to deliver that team, Violence and Suffering? Violence Pain? What a shitty name they chose, a message: You're not playing in the little leagues anymore pals, you're moving up to the big leagues whether you're ready to or not. Just don't get your feelings hurt when we whoop you inside and out of this ring, because at the end of the day, it's Strictly. Business." he throws the mic down and signals for Violence is Forever to come on.
NWA Crockett Cup 2022 1st Round Match:
#5 Seed Strictly Business (Chris Adonis and Royce Isaacs) vs. #12 Seed Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku)
As Adonis gives his jacket to someone on the outside, Kevin Ku kicks Royce Isaacs directly in the head!! He falls hard and Garrini bum-rushes Adonis in the corner to keep him from breaking the pin! 1-2-3, and Violence is Forever have moved on in what might be record time!!
WINNERS, and moving on to the quarter-finals of the 2022 Crockett Cup: Violence is Forever! ~ Time: 0:07
ViF high-tail it out and celebrate on the stage while Adonis begs the referee to restart the match, getting completely pissed off when he says no can-do. What's done is done, and ViF are moving on to the second round of the tournament!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 2022 1st Round Match:
#4 Seed Douglas Williams and Chris Ridgeway vs. #13 Seed Ren Narita and Clark Connors
After an absolute decimation in the previous match, we slow things down with a technical styling here. All four men take turns on one another exchanging hold for hold, with Williams and Ridgeway keeping the obvious advantage over the two less experienced LA Dojo trainees. Williams and Connors would eventually be tagged into the ring with one another and would go at it, both trying to win it for their team. Doug would try for the Chaos Theory, but Connors would slide his way out of it and get the cheeky tag to Ren Narita. Although it saved them for the moment, it wasn't the best plan in the long-run, as Narita's stomps did little to Doug and his attempt at the Boston Crab was met with Narita being thrown into the turnbuckles to perfectly set up the Chaos Theory. That time it was hit, Ridgeway guarded Connors from getting into the ring, and Williams/Ridgeway would advance in the tournament.
WINNERS, and moving on to face Violence is Forever in the Quarter-Finals: Doug Williams and Chris Ridgeway! ~ Time: 8:21
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 1st Round Match:
#6 Seed Violent By Design (Joe Doering and Deaner) vs. #11 Seed Da Pope and Matthew Mims
Pope and Mims look to continue what many have called their Cinderella Run in this Crockett Cup, which started with the shocking win over Hawx Aerie, with a big win over IMPACT talents Joe Doering (formerly of All Japan) and Deaner. And they do just that! Like in their qualifier match, Mims, despite being incredibly hurt in his arms still, used all his might and even more of his heart to hold off big Joe Doering on the outside, allowing for Pope to hit the Pope Experience and once again move his team on in the tournament in another big upset win!
WINNERS, and moving on to the Quarter-Finals of the 2022 Crockett Cup: Da Pope and Matthew Mims! ~ Time: 6:45
But more than just the win repeats itself here, as Doering comes unwound at Mims, throwing him into the steel posts, the guardrail, even making the fans scatter as he throws him about the audience before heading backstage with him. Pope rushed after them to try and save his partner. In a later backstage segment, Pope offered to let his partner forfeit their spot, but Mims wanted to continue on for the sliver of a chance that they make the finals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 1st Round Match:
The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) vs. #14 Seed The Classic Connection (Buddy Royal and Levi Shapiro)
This match would be a classic wrestling affair, with The Classic Connection getting a big lead over The OGK, not letting up on their tandem offense or their killer headlocks and leglocks, simply grinding Taven down and not letting him get to Bennett. When he got to Bennett, the incredibly fresher man, the tide completely turned. A clothesline to Shapiro on the apron, his signature moves on Royal, and finishes him off with the Box Office Smash for the 1-2-3.
WINNERS, and moving on to face Da Pope and Matthew Mims in the Quarter-Finals: The OGK! ~ Time: 8:21
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 1st Round Match:
#7 Seed ??? vs. #10 Seed The Dirty Sexy Boys (JTG and Dirty Dango)
Before the match gets underway and we find out who the 7th seed is, JTG and Dango do a microphone routine to pump the crowd back up after the previous Crockett Cup match. Now, who will the #7 seed be? ...From the crowd, a masked duo appear and attack The Dirty Sexy Boys, two more masked men in tow! They put the boots to the duo as the bell rings before the four unmask: It's Matt Lee and Scott Parker, 2.0 of AEW! In tow with them they've got fellow Jericho Appreciation Society members Daniel Garcia and Jake Hager! The fans massively boo as the four taunt towards the crowd, Hager and Garcia getting into verbal spats with members of the audience that are in the front row.
The match itself isn't much, JTG tries to mount a quick comeback for the team, but 2.0 have too much experience together to let it happen, and run through some tag moves before further taunting the duo with boots on their throats. The Sweet Taste o' Professionalism (a wheelbarrow facebuster and double knee gutbuster combination) is hit on JTG and the match is over in yet another short showing.
WINNERS, and moving on to the Quarter-Finals of the NWA Crockett Cup 2022: 2.0! ~ Time: 1:58
The duo yank a microphone from a ringside attendant and Matt starts to talk.
"Boo all you want you no-good hicks! 2.0 is here, Daniel Garcia is here, Jake Hager is here, we're all here to run amuck of your little stick in the mud company! No one here can beat any of us, and that's a fact, because we are alongside Chris Jericho as God's gifts to wrestling! You should be cheering for the mere fact that we're in your presence right now, because we're better than anyone you've seen tonight! Briscoe Brothers, Mane Event, whoever wins, we're gonna whoop your no-good-" the microphone is cut, and promptly thrown back at the ringside attendant, now being heckled by Hager before they leave. What a bunch of no-good assholes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 1st Round Match:
#2 Seed The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs. #15 The Mane Event (Jay Lyon and Midas Black)
In the final 1st Round match of this year's tournament, we see the massively over babyface team of The Briscoe Brothers, take on the newer, less over team of The Mane Event. Mane Event would start out the match with high flying moves, showing off for the crowd to get them behind the two of them, and would keep the momentum for a solid amount of time. Mark looked to be down and out, but the claps and cheers of the fans got him back up and out of the headluck that Midas had him in, letting him dive for the hot tag! Jay came in like a house of fire, showing out for the crowd before eventually finishing Midas off with the J-Driller for the 1-2-3, to the absolute delight of the Southern crowd!
WINNERS, and moving on to face 2.0 in the Quarter-Finals of the NWA Crockett Cup 2022: The Briscoe Brothers! ~ Time: 7:46
The Briscoes obviously see something big in The Mane Event, shaking their hands and lifting their arms up as we go to a non Crockett Cup match, allowing for breathing room in our teams.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And with that, we're down to 8 Wrestlers and only four more matches on this first night of competition! Our brackets are now as follows:
La Rebelion (Mecha Wolf and Bestia 666) vs. 9. The End (Parrow and Odinson)
Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku) vs. 4. Doug Williams and Chris Ridgeway
The Pope and Matthew Mims vs. 3. The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett)
The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs. 2.0 (Jeff Parker and Scott Lee)
We now head on to the final four matches of the night to finish off Night #1!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 2022 Quarter-Final Match:
#1 Seed La Rebelion (Mecha Wolf and Bestia 666) vs. 9. The End (Parrow and Odinson)
Back from the high octane affair of Briscoes vs. Mane Event, we now see our NWA Tag Team champions in action yet again now in a true hoss fight against The End! The two teams batter each other over and over, hitting each other with lariat after lariat, a no-sell powerbomb attempt for each of Parrow and Bestia Wolf! The two teams can't find their way around one another and the fans love it! That's stopped, however, when Aron Stevens and JR Kratos run in and attack La Rebelion? Everyone is confused at first, but after the ring announcers announces that La Rebelion will be moving on via DQ, the intentions are cleared up: Kratos and Stevens have fucked The End out of a semi-final berth! The End are livid and begin brawling once more with Kratos and Stevens as La Rebelion exit to the backstage, now confirmed to be moving on.
WINNERS, and moving onto the Semi-Finals of the 2022 Crockett Cup: La Rebelion! ~ Time: 05:32
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 2022 Quarter-Final Match:
#4 Seed Doug Williams and Chris Ridgeway vs. #12 Seed Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku)
On from the classic Southern brawling and back to the highly technical wrestling, a true showing of how varied the Crockett Cup can be, we now see Violence is Forever flex their technical muscle against the experienced team of Williams and Ridgeway. In this fight, however, the overall team experience of Violence is Forever would outlast the lesser experience together of Williams and Ridgeway, with another double head-kick, this time to Ridgeway, sealing the deal for ViF and sending them on to the Semi-Finals.
WINNERS, and moving on to face La Rebelion in the Crockett Cup Semi-Finals: Violence is Forever! ~ Time: 10:21
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 2022 Quarter-Final Match:
#3 Seed The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) vs. #11 Seed Da Pope and Matthew Mims
As mentioned before, Matthew Mims' arm was absolutely battered going into this, having sustained significant damage from both Hawx Aerie and by Violent By Design's Joe Doering. Despite this, he showed even more heart than he had in the previous match, even getting the hot tag from Da Pope after he was nearly down and out. That would be the final straw for him though, as a big arm-bar from Mike Bennett would get an immediate tap from the already injured Mims to end the cinderella run of Pope and Mims. A handshake would be exchanged between the two teams and The OGK would exit out, leading us on to our final match of the first night.
WINNERS, and advancing to the Semi-Finals of the 2022 Crockett Cup: The OGK! ~ Time: 7:43
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Crockett Cup 2022 Quarter-Final Match:
#2 Seed The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe) vs. 2.0 (Jeff Lee and Matt Parker) w/ Daniel Garcia & Jake Hager
This match would be an absolute war between these two teams to close out our first night of competition and the Quarter-Finals. The Briscoes would get on the microphone before the match and call 2.0 out for the things they said earlier. 2.0 would come out with their crew in tow, and the fight would be on! The Briscoes would put non-stop punches to 2.0 in the early-going, but after 2.0 got into control of the fight, their heelish ways shone through completely. Low blows, eye gouges, hair pulling behind the back of the referee; anything that you can think of, you name it, 2.0 would do it in this match. Even Garcia and Hager would get in on it with sucker-punches to both Briscoes. As per the course, the hot tag would see Jay and Lee tagging in, Jay would get punches in on Jeff, on Matt, on Garcia, and even on Hager! He looked to be in full control of the match, even about to hit the J-Driller! But Garcia would call him over, calling him a name he obviously didn't like and with the referee distracted by Hager, Jay would get a face full of some kind of dust - protein powder? - in the face from Garcia, allowing Jeff to get the huge roll-up victory on the hometown favorites!
Trash goes flying into the ring, the boots are once again put to The Briscoes by all four men, and 2.0 close out our first night of competition solidly on top as they go to take on The OGK in the Semi-Finals.
WINNERS, and moving on to face The OGK in the Semi-Finals of the 2022 Crockett Cup: 2.0! ~ Time: 13:22
Night 1 is in the books! We now only have three more matches, and four teams remaining in this year's iteration of the Crockett Cup! Let's take a look at them now, and hear some words from them following the first night:
La Rebelion vs. 12. Violence is Forever
The OGK vs. 7. 2.0
La Rebelion had very few words, and spoke more in shouts and a mix of Spanish and English in their hype-up promo, saying that Violence is Forever would die at their hands before they let them get a win over them. Violence is Forever would respect La Rebelion and their feats as NWA Tag Team Champions, but say that they'd show them the true meaning of Violence in that ring on the second night.
The OGK would have no respect for 2.0, saying that they're potentially even worse than The Fixers in the way they've not only cheated in their matches, but cheated the fans out of a great match with The Briscoes (the match was great anyways, but you get the point). 2.0 didn't give a damn, wanted to win this stupid, honky cup, and get out of town. They also thanked Jim Crockett Sr. for passing, to give the opportunity of winning this cup to the best tag team in the world: 2.0.
With some fiery words being said, let's end this off strong and finish this tournament!
Crockett Cup 2022 Semi-Final Match:
#1 Seed La Rebelion (Bestia 666 and Mecha Wolf) vs. #12 Seed Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku)
Another war would start off this night of the Crockett Cup, as La Rebelion and Violence is Forever would blend their two styles of brute force brawling and MMA inspired pseudo-shoot wrestling. A roaring lariat would be met with a duck, and the ensuing kick would be met with yet another duck. These two are perfect matches for one another, and couldn't quite seem to find their way to get on top of one another. The pivot point would finally come after Garrini would hit a massive series of lariats to finally knock Mecha Wolf down and tag partner Kevin Ku in! Ku would come in with a flurry of open hand slaps and big kicks to the legs and chest of Wolf before hitting a huge PK on him! Garrini would play the same role that he played in their first round match, keeping Bestia in the corner and allowing Ku to hit a massive Shining Wizard to get the 1-2-3 on the out cold Mecha Wolf, advance in the tournament, and get a massive win over the NWA Tag Team champions!
WINNERS, and advancing to the 2022 Crockett Cup Finals: Violence is Forever, Kevin Ku and Dominic Garrini! ~ Time: 11:34
ViF would offer their thoughts to the interviewer, saying that no matter the outcome, they should very well be in the running for an NWA Tag Title shot, and that they're ready to face whichever team wins out of the other bracket in the next match. Big stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crockett Cup 2022 Semi-Final Match:
#3 Seed The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) vs. #7 Seed 2.0 (Matt Parker and Jeff Lee)
2.0 were nearly booed out of the building, along with their crew that they had in tow. The crowd hated them, didn't want them anywhere near the fan-favorite OGK, and hoped that OGK could knock them out of contention completely. 2.0 did not care, needless to say, and pretended just to not hear the crowd to further piss them off. The match would go much like The Briscoes match did, with 2.0 isolating one of The OGK members out of the match, making sure that only one of them ever step foot in the ring. The plan, unlike with the Briscoes, went much better. Multiple hot tag attempts were stopped, Garcia would distract Taven on the outside, making sure that he wasn't in position to get the tag if the opportunity were to arise for Bennett, the whole 9 yards.
After a hot tag was finally set in, Taven was absolutely pumped, getting the crowd behind him and readying to attack a downed Jeff Lee. But then he noticed a shitty sign: the ref was now being distracted by both Garcia and Hager. What could this mean? It would mean a stiff 1-2 from both Wrecking Ball Legursky and Jay Bradley of The Fixers! The absolute bastards have all-but cost The OGK the win here! Lee rolls over onto him. 1...
2...
NO!
That's not nearly enough to put Matt Taven out! He's not ready to die yet! He hulks up for the crowd, even with Matt Parker tagging in and hits a flurry of Dusty inspired punches on Parker, before Parker ducks the Bionic Elbow, a low-blow out of the referee's view to Bennett! Pinfall! 1-2-3.
WINNERS, and advancing to the finals of the 2022 Crockett Cup to face Violence is Forever: 2.0! ~ Time: 14:42
Damn near a riot. If 2.0 win the Crockett Cup tonight, there's no chance they leave Georgia alive. They reiterate what they said in their video promo following the match, and the Crockett comment erupts more trash being thrown, and the overhead announcer telling the fans to calm down, or the event would be stopped until order was back in control of the NWA, and venue security.
This is going to be a war.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a breather, the other results of the second Crockett Cup night are:
The Hex retaining their NWA Women's Tag Team titles against Pretty Empowered
Anthony Mayweather defending his newly won NWA National Title against Jax Dane
Rodney Mack scoring a big upset win over Tyrus to win the NWA Television Title
Kamille retaining the NWA Women's Title with a sad pinfall over Kylie Rae
"The Revolutionary" Darius Lockheart beats four other competitors to win the NWA Jr. Heavyweight Title
And finally, in the semi-main event, Matt Cardona retains his NWA title via DQ after Mike Knox and VSK would rush the ring to attack Aldis and cost him the match.
Now, finally, let's get onto our main event of the evening.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 2022 Crockett Cup Finals:
#7 Seed 2.0 (Matt Parker and Jeff Lee) w/ Daniel Garcia and Jake Hager vs. #12 Seed Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku)
Violence is Forever are undoubtedly the fan-favorites in this match. Their fighting style, their respect for the NWA crowd and traditions, the way they continue to play fair in all of their fights. The NWA fans can't get enough, as evidenced by the massive roar when their established music hits over the arena soundsystem. They're pumped, they're ready, and so are the fans.
Then 2.0 come out. They're despised, and the complete and utter opposite of Violence is Forever to this crowd. This crowd wants them dead, and some might be truly willing to take matters into their own hands if they win here tonight. But if they win, they win, and they're going to hope the police escort is ready for all four of them as they exit Georgia.
The match is on, and it's surprisingly clean in the early going, with Matt and Jeff attempting to play into ViF's technical ability. They're able to do it well, being trained by the Chikara academy after all, but not nearly well enough to get on top of ViF in this match. Because of that, the dirty tactics come back into full effect. Ku is thrown to the floor where Garcia and Hager get some cheap stomps in on him, acting coy when the referee asks what's going on on the outside. The mullet of Garrini is pulled while turned away from the referee in a submission. Same as before, you name it, 2.0 are going to do it to win here tonight and bring the Crockett cup, $100,000, and an NWA contract home - although it remains to be seen if they'll take the NWA contract. Further into the match, we've seen it many times throughout this tournament, Ku is finally about to get the big tag in on Dominic Garrini, but Jeff Lee is doing his best to stop it - he can't! He narrowly misses the leg of the lighter Ku as he dives for the hot tag! Garrini is in!
Garrini throws massive elbows to both men that make up 2.0, before Military Press Slamming him out of the ring and onto his cohorts! The crowd goes absolutely nuts for him as, in a rare move for either man in ViF, he showboats to the crowd, pumped up to be this close to glory! Further on in the match, Garrini is setting Lee up for a massive belly-to-belly suplex, but he's pushed into the referee!! The referee is out, which means Garcia and Hager hit the ring. Boos erupt, a few eager fans throwing their beer cups into the ring before the match is even over - But they're saved! The Briscoe Brothers come out to a humongous ovation and save Violence is Forever, evening the odds and making sure that Garcia and Hager are far away from the ring! Ku is still holding onto Matt outside of the ring, screaming for Garrini to "GO MOUSE, GO MOUSE!". Garrini listens, and hits his Mighty Mouse move, a huge German Suplex followed by an arm-bar! Parker tries to hold on for dear life, he's not gonna let this slip away from him, especially not with the referee out. But as the referee begins to come to, the pain is too much: Matt Parker taps out to Garrini's armbar in the middle of the ring, and the bell sounds.
To a massive roar from the Georgia audience, Violence is Forever are your 2022 Crockett Cup Winners.
WINNERS, AND YOUR 2022 CROCKETT CUP WINNERS: VIOLENCE IS FOREVER, KEVIN KU AND DOMINIC GARRINI!! ~ Time: 22:09
Nothing but emotion is shown from the two men, hugging it out with one another. Garrini is practically crying in the ring after facing four tough, rough teams in the span of two days, their hard work has paid off. The crowd chants the duo's name, asks them to come back, all of the above. Billy Corgan hits the ring, shaking hands with the two men after they get up, handing them both a Crockett Cup, as well as their Black Label Pro tag team titles which he had been asked by Ku to hold onto.
Kyle Durden gets on the microphone. "Boys! You've just won the Crockett Cup! How does it feel?"
Ku picks up the microphone. "You have no idea how long we have waited for this moment. Since we were kids, watching our parents' old wrestling tapes, watching the classic territory matches where we could find them, we've wanted this. Only us coming together has made us realize our destiny, and now, we've achieved it. Thank you all, and we'll be back, that's for damn sure."
Garrini now. "All of what he said, and only one more thing: VIOLENCE! IS FOREVER!" Garrini drops the mic and hugs onto Ku once more before posing with the cups, the oversized check, and the NWA contract. The show goes off the air as they celebrate on the ramp before heading backstage.
That's the 2022 Crockett Cup! Now, what have we done with this tournament overall? Let's see!
- We've established two feuds and an incredible new tag team in Violence is Forever, with them facing off with La Rebelion and Strictly Business
- Made a new team of Pope and Mims, and gotten them over as underdog faces
- Had an incredible run with 2.0 that could either spill The Briscoes over to AEW for a rematch, or have it take place in Ring of Honor, or NWA in what would absolutely be a No Disqualification match/Fight Without Honor depending on where it takes place
- We've continued the feud of OGK/The Fixers, also more than likely to be in a no-DQ blowoff
- The End vs. Aron Stevens and JR Kratos is happening now
- And overall, the tag division is absolutely booming after this tournament, with major players, and major storylines
I hope you all have enjoyed. Thank you.
