Today I looked in the mirror & had to pause & enjoy, because while I never had a specific image of what I wanted to look like, I do look like who I always wanted to be, & that thought has been with me all day. I am entering middle age & started transition in my 20s, & let me tell you, it never gets old.
In celebration, here's a very recent picture of me in the fitting room at work (a fetish boutique. Gloves because I prefer not to touch things in general.) This week, a young queer couple came in for shoes; the shy partner looked at a pair of big goth boots & remarked that they wished they could pull off that look. The bold partner simply said "you just have to decide that you can." Relaying this because, in my experience, there's a lot in life that has to do with deciding that you can.
I hope you're all living in your gratitude & in your truth 🖤
