Thoughts on a Mage only build?

So I was thinking on the viability of a mage only build. How I envision it working would be 4 members being RDM/BLM, and two members being WHM/TIM. This way you have two separate parties of 2 attackers and one buffer/healer, and all members have a little support. Only issue I could see with this would be on enemies that are resistant/immune to magic.

This also got me thinking of different similar builds, like one of 2 SHK/FOE (Vaan & Balthier), 2 BSH/MNK (Ashe & Basch), and 2 WHM/TIM (Penelo & Fran). Super combo run!
