Does the 'Attack Power' stat factor for how that particular weapon scales with your other stats?

For example I had two characters with the same Strength, but drastically different Magic (high and low). If I equip the same katana on both characters, will the Attack Power stat read the same, or will it be higher for the character with high Magic?
