Zarg gearing and rotation discussion
Post Body

Well, new 7* batch today and holy moly were there some surprises. Most of us had high hopes for Zarg, and it seems Gumi did not disappoint. I thought it might be good to have a thread to discuss gearing setups and how we plan to use him. Will you still be using him as an evade tank? Will you go the buff and DPS route with his Octoslash chaining? What gear will you put on for each?

Some things I want to point out, he now (at max level) as innate 40% evade and DW. Wow! For the provoke tank, I'm thinking we can drop the moogle plushie and use Judge Magisters Cloak and Yellow Balloon since we no longer need the accessory slots for evasion. This would give him innate 35% draw attack while still being able to DW for the stat bonuses. This of course still requires provoke on Golem to get to 100%.

Looks like all his buffs are not reliant on his stats, so you could go full attack for off buffing chaining. Again, his innate DW opens up a lot of damage potential. I'd think his rotation would be Archadia's Might right off the bat, Prismatic Barrier, then his LB every other third (maybe) turn if going the full buff route.

For DPS, I would think it'd be Archadia's Might, Vengeance Blade (maybe with Rejuvenate if needed) and then alternate LB when available and Vengeance Blade.

What are you planning to do with this guy? How are you planning to using him? Is there something I'm overlooking? Please discuss below and share any builds you may find interesting. I'll be in class for most of the morning, so I apologize if I'm a bit slow to respond, but I wanted to get a discussion going since I know there is a lot of excitement around this guy.

Edit: Okay, so finally home again and had a chance to go through and look at this. Based on popular comments, it seems either a provoke and evade build or an mp/lb build are how people expect to use him. Personally, I think I'll go with this build and use him as a buffer, with the option to provoke if needed. He still gets solid HP and defensive stats, with plenty of mp regen, and a few LB crysts per turn. I have Merc Ramza as my tank so he can entrust if I need his LB. Great discussion everyone, feel free to keep sharing your thoughts.
