A lot of new players (And non new) often dont know what certain terms mean. For example the meaning of the different skillsets, anchors, runningmen, oh trills, rolls, map vs chart, simfile, SSR, etc. I would like to start making a list of "useful definitions" of these terms in this post. Ideally people will make a comment here with a certain definition, other people wil answer with constructive criticism on weather or not that definition is right/wrong, and after some kind of agreement is made I'll add it to the main post (This). I dont know if this has been done before but I've heard most such lists have outdated terms or descriptive images which are missing. Anyways, ideally this thread can eventually be a useful guide and maybe the content can eventually have it's own page in EO or be found in Til Death as some kind of Help text.
Generic Terms:
SSR: Score Specific Rating. The way the calculator works, it calculates a rating for a chart and a wife %. Every score (Every time you play) gets an SSR.
Chart Rating: The SSR for 93% in that chart.
Simfile: Can either mean a .sm/.ssc file or just a file of any extension/format that contains the steps for a song.
Chart: Also called Steps or Map (In Etterna/SM communities you might be mocked if you say map), a chart is one set of notes/arrows. A simfile can have many charts.
Patterns:
Special Score Names:
SDG = Single Digit Great (Less than 10 greats, all else perf/marv)
SDG = Single Digit Perfect (Less than 10 perfects, all else /marv)
FC = Full Combo (All great )
PFC = Perfect Full Combo (All perf/marv)
MF = Miss Flag (1 miss, all else great )
BF = Black Flag (1 great, all else perf/marv)
WF = White Flag (1 perf, all else marv)
