So I ordered a postcard from an Etsy seller a week before Valentine’s Day. It was a vintage item so they didn’t have to make it or anything. The day after I ordered it, it went to a pre-transit status. The item is coming from the Ukraine, so I understand it was prob not going to get here by Valentine’s Day. So I ordered plan B off eBay, another postcard this one coming from Germany. Well I got the one from Germany a few days after Valentine’s Day and gave the one half of the gift to my significant other. When I stil hadn’t received the first one by the end of feb, I sent the seller a message because the transit status had not changed. This is what they wrote.
‘Thanks for reaching out. Just to let you know, we mailed this on Feb. 7th, and the item has been in transit for 16 days. I checked your item and some others sent to the states that day and was told by Ukrposhta this morning (my time) that on the 12th, it left Ukraine: "The package has departed from the port of origin and is in transit. Please wait patiently" was their reply. So it could still take about another week or so to arrive. I remember that crazy week, the electricity was out for 48 hours here, so we manually shipped it instead of using the online form. Because of this, tracking probably won't update until the final delivery or arrival in the states. Sorry about this, but I promise you the postcard has been mailed and is on its way. We will keep an eye out for updates and will get back in touch in a week to see it's status. Thanks for your patience and understanding!’
So ok, I waited and another week goes by, no post card….I could just forget it cuz I think I was only out $15 for it, and with valentines come and gone, I just wanted what I had paid for, I message the seller again and they reassure me that other items they shipped to the us around the time they did mine were just delivered and that it was still within their 15-30day delivery window and if I didn’t want it anymore just refuse to accept it when it arrived and they would refund my money as soon as they got it. Well it is now 3 weeks later, and still nothing. At this point I feel like it was some sort of scam despite their good ratings on Etsy. Plus it seems kinda ridiculous to scam someone for so little money, but wouldn’t put it past ppl these days. Any advice as what to do next? I’ve messaged them again tonight, but honestly think they are still gonna give me the run around. What should I do?
