Finding a partner without “unicorn hunting”

Post Body

I’m currently single and I’ve been very open in what I want from my next relationship(s) with online bios and apps. The only people who seem to be interested in my profile are people who are unicorn hunting. Sorry but I’m not interested in both partners, and I don’t want a throuple either.

Mostly wanting to know how you guys started your relationships. I’m trying to be very open and honest, but a lot of people only want monogamy. These would most likely be wonderful relationships if I was ok being monogamous tho:( I also feel like since I’m currently single my partner would assume monogamy even tho I clearly stated it’s not what I want.

Advice and resources please🙏

You are absolutely right: most people want monogamy.

Only about 5-20 percent (the numbers vary) are open to non-monogamy, and of those, quite a large portion already have one or more partners. So you are looking at a much smaller pool than you might be used to or your mates might be fishing in. I’m not saying that to dissuade you, but to assure you that it’s quite common that it might take longer to find your person.
