Strange graph

I know I clearly picked a bad time to get into Ether mining, but hey, I'm still confused and would appreciate if anyone could enlighten me as to why the current hash rate rises and falls this wildly while on my PC there's a consistent hash rate shown (around 67.8 ish mH/s) or - only 1 or 2. Also the average is a bit below what my command prompt is showing as the actual hash rate. Graph: https://i.imgur.com/4uHQLy5.jpg
