my lovely 4 y/o gelding is a sweetheart but he tends to get wiggly for the farrier🥴 i lunge him before my appt and i always have sedatives on hand just in case my farrier wants it (i’m lucky she’s so patient with him though!) but i do feel bad that sometimes he’ll just sway and lean left and right or back and forth (vet has checked him and flexed his legs so pain is not an issue here) just chalking it up to him being a baby who gets bored after a bit while waiting for his 4 shoes. any tips that i can work on with him so that he isn’t as wiggly?
Definitely offer a hay net while they're standing there. Our young ones are always offered the net until they're fully able to stand still.
