I received a letter for a phone interview to verify my qualification. After the interview I got a letter stating I did not qualify for benefits. The reasons were I didn't consult with my primary doctor for leaving my job (I have a long history of asthma) and didn't take all the steps to preserve my job. It's when COVID first struck and there was a lockdown. I was afraid of bringing COVID back home to my family because I worked in retail and have a dad who is sick & disabled. There was also a newborn at the time back home so I didn't want to risk bringing anything home simply for a 200-300 biweekly paycheck. I had another job lined up but the business went under due to the lockdown. So I was jobless. This was in March 2020 and I sought assistance in August because I wasn't able to find work. I added in my application I quit due to COVID. I got accepted and had to call them months later for my benefits stuck on pending and they didn't ask anything other than my info. My benefits ended last year in August 2021. Fast forward 2 years and I still haven't had any luck with work. I've applied to many places with many interviews and still nothing. I'm wanting to appeal but I'm unsure because I know I quit by myself but it was out of good cause. I wasn't being fraudulent so idk if it's worth appealing for but I would like to hear everyone's thoughts.
