Hello all!
Recently my cousin gave me a gallon sized bag of frozen tomatillos, a slightly larger than gallon sized bag of frozen tomatoes, and a fresh potted basil plant. Since then the basil plant has doubled in size, and I kinda forgot about the tomatoes and tomatillos.
I'd love your ideas and basic recipes for what to do with the tomatoes and tomatillos. I've made salsa verde before with the fresh tomatillos she's given me, but I'm not sure if I can make it with frozen ones. And I'd love to hear what else you can make with tomatillos that isn't too complicated.
I also want to use those tomatoes for maybe a delicious spaghetti sauce with the fresh basil. Does anyone have any good recipes for that? (Crockpot recipes are very welcome!) I never make my own spaghetti sauce, so I'd like to know what you all do with yours. I've probably got at least two cups worth of basil leaves on my plant, so I think I could use a reasonable amount to my tomatoes to make some good sauce.
Any suggestions and recipes to help me use these up are welcome! Thank you all!
