My director said if we get sick it’s our own fault

At a staff meeting two weeks ago she told us, “I’m tired of everyone getting sick and calling out all the time. Learn to wash your hands.” My coteacher has now come into work sick two days in a row because she doesn’t have any PTO left and she’s afraid of upsetting our director. She started feeling poorly after one of our kids coughed directly in her face.
Now I’m starting to feel sick. I’ve been washing my hands to the point of them cracking and bleeding. Guess I must have been doing it wrong. /s
