Is it possible to use a hardware Tx/Rx system (e.g. using Intel Edison) and analyze the icommunicatiown characteristics using Matlab?

Post Body

I want to make a communication link, send signals over Wi-Fi, and analyze characteristics such as SNR, error rate, etc. However, I'm not completely sure how to go about with this because Matlab and the Intel Edison (using Arduino IDE) are different. Is there a way to go about doing this?
