Questions About Product Marks/Approvals
Post Body

Hello all. I was hoping that someone with a touch of experience dealing with device/machine certification could answer a few quick questions:

  • Are there open/free summaries of specifications for CSA, UL and/or RU standards? I know the full specs cost money, but are there condensed versions open to the public?

  • Documentation for cable and connector approvals seems to become more scarce as transmitted power decreases. Is there a cutoff voltage/power where marks are no longer necessary for cables? These are cables strung through an IP54 environment, mostly inside of trays.

  • Are there any resources available to help with selecting which standards books to buy? I'm just trying to validate a single small machine, and if I buy everything that sounds relevant, CSA would make over $20k off of us.
