Indica vs Sativa. How to tell

For some reason I can’t post in weed subreddits, so i’ll ask here.
What are the most obvious signs of each strain? Let’s say, if i don’t know what kind of weed is that, how can i understand if it’s indica or sativa dominant?
I know that terpenes smells differently, and sativa strains are mostly the ones that smell citrous and sour, and some indica smells earthly, etc. What about bud’s appearance, colour, size?
