So obviously the James thing happened and depending on your opinion it was either shitty or about time.

But what is really depressing is the shear number of people that pay respect to Gabe Newell simply for being so gracious as to comment directly on the matter.

So Gabe Newell himself in his never ending benevolence was kind enough to leave to lofty world of developer heaven to call James "2GD" Harding "an ass". And to read some of the responses is like watching a bunch of abused wives and people with Stockholm Syndrome worship their oppressors.

To summarise

• All of Reddit and Twitch went "Oi Valve, we have a problem"
• Gabe Newell went "Fuck your problem"
• And Reddit went "wow! the real Gabe Newell"

I don't want to kick off the whole debate again. And this is by no means everyone but read the responses to GabeN's post. I won't call out anyone directly, but can we all agree that revering someone that is actively disregarding your opinion is kind of pathetic.

It sends the wrong message. You finally get a response and when it's "I don't care", you saying "I think it's amazing that you don't care" just lets GabeN think that community matters are trivial. And that they can be resolved simply by him showing his face (or unique flair in this case)
