Hello! So I've been accepted to the KPA Professional program, and as title suggests, I am NERVOUS. My dog, who I am using as my partner for the program, was doing moderately well (She is a year and a half) but adolescence is now hitting HARD and I'm worried I was wrongfully accepted and I'm not good enough to get her to a place where we'll be ready to pass the program. I don't know anyone else who has done the program, and I'm curious about what expectations are and what the program looks like.
We are still really struggling with crating, excitement reactivity, and that good ol' general adolescent independence, but she's otherwise greatly responsive to her cues in a variety of situations. she's just in that intermediate phase of developing more desirable "manners," defaults, and tolerance, and we're having trouble getting past this hump/plateau we seem to be at.
I'm worried I'll be a shameful student and won't pass despite my desire to do my best and learn all that I can. I obviously am joining this program to learn, and definitely don't know enough to perform well at my current level. What if I just don't have what it takes? Was anyone else nervous?
