Dog has bald patch on leg suddenly - concern?

My dog didn't have this bald patch yesterday. He went to the dog park this morning but I dont think any dogs bit or pulled at his leg. He has no limp and doesn't seem to recoil if I touch it.
Any idea what this is? Should I check with a vet only if it gets larger or he seems discomforted?
