How my players unknowingly met a copper dragon

Post Body

In our last session my two players met a man by the name of "Edwin Copperback" hes a traveling merchant who frequents the same few towns and cities every couple years. He has shops in each town that are commonly run down and defaced because he is always either kicked out of town, or skips town right before a small mob forms. He sells "strange and wonderous magical items." Which as you might guess are complete garbage, on average at any given time he is only actually selling 5 or 6 REAL magical items, the rest are just things he picks up off the side of the street and says are magic. Very much the classic "orb of slope detection" type stuff. Some of it comes from how he trades, he always asks for a small amount of money, and two items from the person hes selling to. As an example, when he sold a ring to the ranger in the party, he asked her for 6 silver, something green, and something tasty. They bought 3 items each from him, and luckily enough they both ended up with one true magical item each. They both thought that Edwin was just a crazy traveling merchant, but in reality he is a polymorphed copper dragon, who is selling random junk to grow his hoard and play pranks on townsfolk every couple months. Good times.
