People today are more interest in the media surrounding politics then the politics themselves.

In light of the US election I can’t help but notice a few things. Being a non American citizen living outside America every single program on my tv is circling around the debate. Constant updates. I understand it is the most important person in the world, but at the end of the day it’s Americas president not mine why do I hear so much American politics and not enough local politics. I feel like it’s more a reality show not a democracy.

Secondly I cannot believe the massive influence the media has on politics, again in my country we hear nothing but shit posts on trump, I get it he says some crazy things, but after a bit of searching he does actually do some great things and this has been obviously awarded by the large amounts of female voters and Hispanic voters. Media also extends to celebrity influence I get how everyone needs a voice, but the fact that they have sooo much power to create a ‘cancel culture’ on differing opinions is disgusting.

Anyway I’m keen to hear everyone’s opinion pls check out r/TopicalDebates for some other content. Cheers.
