Cities and General Info for Civcraft Refugees?

I, and am sure I come with many others, was a player on Civcraft. When I saw the notice, I decided to move to Devoted, as it was similar with similar people and mods and seemed very nice. However, I don't know any general background. I don't mean the wiki, I mean the history of this iteraion, major towns and groups, religions, etc. Could some people give me an overview of stuff not found on the Wiki? Thanks.
