Dark souls 2 online servers

Ok so i recently got ds2 and I am loving it. I got the game somthing like 2 weeks ago and I was able to use the online servers but this week recently it hasn't worked and when I looked it up online it said that the servers shut down permanently 2 months ago. I got no idea what's happening. Will I be able to use online play??
