This is just armchair research, but I had a few thoughts.

We've already see it teleport a space station, albeit, the station got stuck and destroyed, so, it doesn't seem to have a range of field so far.

I was curious if it uses a sort of shield frequency, to surround the ship and fold space, rather than just engines. Doing that, well, allows a bunch of interesting ideas to unfold.

For example, I had a thought about it being tied into a planetary shield grid. If the Raza was planetside, with a group of colonists, or androids or something (someone?), and they come under attack from forces in space, there could be some awesome events.

Tie the blink drive into planetary shields, and power it, and, bam, entire planet is teleported to a distant star system.

If this wasn't ridiculous, it would be incredible, and a massive twist for some sort of season finale.

Any thoughts?
