No doubt as many of you are currently aware, the TPS of Civcraft has reached abysmal, nearly unplayable levels in regards to many once easily done tasks. While there are a variety of reasons for this unfortunate occurrence, an easily identifiable and quite easily largest contributor to the Tick issue is an overuse of Hoppers and Droppers in massive industrial complexes. Eliminating the excess use of advanced pieces of machinery such as the Hopper on a massive scale may indeed lead to better quality of play for many around the server, and return our beloved Civcraft into a state where many more would be able to enjoy it.
There have been calls to action before in regards to eliminating the uses of hoppers and pistons before now, but rarely do we ever see them acted upon in any great scale. No person or city wants to sacrifice their own production because they fear that they will fail to be competitive alongside those who still use pollutant machines. However, we've reached a point where there's no use in ignoring the results of the denizens of the server's actions. Civcraft suffers, and people have to make changes.
Therefore, I propose that NDZ and by extension the DZF lead the charge in our own small capacity. We are by no means a nation which has massive usage of polluting industry, but we are not guiltless. The Biofarm in Westcliffe has hopper usage that is contributing to the problem, and I believe there also to be a mushroom contraption in Aegina that is built using mechanics that contribute to pollution. We should look for alternatives to our current industry that would lessen the load upon the server, such as the substitution of Ice in place of a majority of hoppers, or perhaps the full destruction of monoliths that we may have once had pride in.
We as players must decide whether or not to preserve this experience for future generations or gobble it up all for ourselves and leave nothing for the future Civcraftians and Danzilonans to call their own. The time for action is now, and we must simply do it.
