Got a trio of long-dogs and am winding up to build a ramp in anticipation for a new puppy. I’ve got a short flight of stairs that I am trying to spare them contending with by means of a ramp.
First idea is just a narrow (12” or so) ramp to one side of the steps (blue). This is the most direct means but we (the humans in the house) run the risk of tripping up on it and breaking our necks.
Second is a ramp running from the side (red). This would free up the stairs but I’m worried the dogs would ignore it for a more direct (and worse for their long term health) path up the stairs. Side ramp has added benefit of being able to affix it permanently to the wall.
Opinions? Anyone done anything similar?
