Guild question

Would there be any foreseeable benefits to letting my party create a guild based out of Trollskull Manor? They have the idea to do so but honestly by the guild guidelines I've seen it's not exactly doable. The party is sizeable, group of almost ten, but for a city the size of Waterdeep the guild would need to be at least twenty something I think? I'm just trying to get some advice on what to tell my group as I'm new to being a DM.
